here’s something that will send shivers through the cube farms, where veal pens fatten residents with a lotta take out: hyperactive technology’s ‘ ‘hyperactive bob’ software predicts with 90 percent accuracy what kind of food a drive-thru customer is gonna order by looking at the car as it pulls up for drive-thru service…you can read this article from last year when the company was first getting mainstream press (at usa today, which is like the velvet elvis of mainstream press i suppose)

…oh yeah, so, per the internet, “HyperActives market entry product, Real-Time Buffer Management (RTBM), uses standard security cameras coupled with state-of-the-art computer-vision technology and Artificial Intelligence algorithms to automatically count consumers and their vehicles as they arrive but well before they have ordered. Using this highly accurate time-based information, HyperActives RTBM product determines what to produce, how much to produce and when to produce. This information is then presented to the kitchen for execution.” (btw, did you like that - “per the internet” citation? hah! that’s mla style baby, mla)

you can read all about their main solution, called ‘hyperactive bob’ at their site (flash version )….but what the shit? talk about lack of political correctness, don’t they know that it’s not called hyperactive, that it’s attention deficit disorder? they might as well relocate to the ‘ivory coast’ from pittsburgh while they’re at it…

btw, i’m also developing software for fast food restaurants. here’s how it works: using similar technology, my application also weighs the car, determines difference between standard auto weight and guesses likely weight of passengers by comparing to a regularly updated table of acceptable weights…incorporating voice recognition software, the application then broadcasts over the voice box when an overweight patron orders shitty food…currently it says stuff like, “get off your ass and get some exercise and drive away now!”..if they don’t pull away from the drive-through line they get a low voltage electric shock…still working out the kinks….

Some similar nonsense, if you like that kind of thing:
