a lotta folks have pinged me about past articles and interviews related to both furl and spurl and the larger world of “advanced bookmarking” (if you’d like to call it that)…or more appropriately, ‘web annotation ‘ - to clarify, these are not original ideas, they’re both simply creative interpretations of older ideas, which in fact owe much of their very heritage to the very first ‘dog-eared’ pages (think dead see scrolls, da vinci’s codex, my sister’s copy of french vogue when i was in 7th grade etc), physical bookmarks, pencil notes in columns, et al…

at any rate, for your edification and review, i’ve consolidated a very large list of web annotation related products and projects within the web research guide as well as several tools that touch upon larger areas of interest…like unstructured data management (kind of like, “so what the hell do you do with it once you’ve got it all bookmarked, snipped and stored locally?”

and btw, be damned careful with those real bookmarks…if your luck is as bad as that of 52 year old teacher kathryn harrington, then you too might get stopped at an airport for carrying a heavy bookmark, face potential criminal charges and do hard time baby…

Some similar nonsense, if you like that kind of thing:
