when i read this excerpt from the IBM white paper about media and entertainment in 2010, i was gonna hurl…(pulled by len witt of the public journalism network) - “The future will see more open, reciprocal relationships and more ways to interact and customize at every point of the media value loop – among brands, creators, suppliers, distributors, delivery systems, customers and “experiencersâ€? of media content.” yeah, okay, aside from the made up word (experiencers?), what the hell is a value loop? does that mean that crap will cost a lot and then cost nothing, becoming actual crap once again (think janet jackson ticket prices) …is this just ibm recycling the concept of hypermediation (another gross word)?

who even cares- since it can only happen by 2010 if we understand whatever the hell it is they’re saying is going to happen … when huge groups of people compile information, then YES, it is great for research, but it’s also called being a ‘packrat’ …in fact, just save this file from ibm and rename ‘digital packrats white paper,’ print it out, and use it to line your bird cage.
