Got something to say or share with the PassingNotes community? We welcome article submissions from both professional and amateur authors. We do not require prior writing experience, nor do we require prior publication in academia or popular literature or Internet media.
If you’re interested in having an article, essay, white paper (e.g. vendor white papers) or other (mostly) relevant items published on PassingNotes.com, please send a brief description of your area(s) of expertise, a brief bio, links to any personal pages (blogs etc.) or links to previously published pieces to dave (at) passingnotes.com. Please submit any writing samples as text only - we don’t open attachments.

If you feel like you’ve gotta say something right away, and if that “thing” is more like a rant or bit-o-prose than an article (as in, lack of formal structure, yadda yadda) then do this: register for the forums, then log in and put up your comment in the most appropriate category. If you’d like to expand on it for submission, then go for it. If you’d like for me to pick up the forum post and point to it from the main site, then just drop me a note (yeah, I live to serve…dream on).
Our copyright rules are simple:
once you submit a piece to PassingNotes.com and we accept it and publish it, it stays up on the site forever or until we take it down. That means that PassingNotes.com owns that iteration or version of the article. We reserve the right to alter or edit submissions prior to posting, though rarely do so. Rather, we ask that all authors carefully proofread their own pieces and fix run-ons, spelling errors, poor references and other critical elements. If we edit a piece, we will clearly indicate what (if any) edits were made; often, changes include only: typo fixes and design elements to fit the site (bold, insertion of that little ‘more…’ tag to break articles - we’ll let you know if it’s gonna need more than that.
All site visitors are subject to the copyright law and terms of use which protect and govern our site. However, if you - the original author only - wish to publish or submit the article elsewhere in it’s original or altered form, you reserve the right to do so without violating the rights of PassingNotes.com because it is your piece. Again, that last sentence applies to only the original author or teams of contributing authors on a single piece or series of pieces.
If you are interested in submitting a previously published piece, please consult the current or past publisher(s) to determine whether or not you are permitted to do so. Due to the high volume of submissions we receive, we are unable to search for previous publication though secondary literature research.
