” The Georgia Pines system has decided to create their own open source ILS.” this says a lot about the future of library automation…libraries have apparently become way too large and complex for the current offerings…so they’re gonna go it alone via open source. i guess it’s kinda similar, since library salaries are horrible and most open source work is just completely unpaid, these development leaders can use similar management strategies like, “management of people through shame and guilt” to promote rapid change… sounds like something for a business book…you can read more about it here: Catalogablog
