… i’ve really got just one goal for this site: offer valuable and completely free information and resources to professional and amateur researchers (ci, pi, whatever you are, including newbies, wannabes, yaddabes etc) while allowing me to remain true to my irreverent, cynical, jaded and occasionally vulgar self…you can comment as you please on any article or link, and you can say whatever the hell you want in the forums, even if it includes swear words (sounds silly, but many sites do edit and police to the Nth degree)

what you can expect from me in terms of content: new and insightful information about the world of research every single day o’ the week… except for most weekends…oh yeah, and also all days where i’m a lazy shit and just edit the date on a really old post that people probably forgot about and pass it off as new…what you must not ever expect from me: crappy one line bits that just link to some other person’s crapass blog entry, that gets tired.

  • if you wanna email me for a good reason, like feedback, contributions, whatever, send a note to: dave (at) passingnotes.com
  • if you just wanna piss and moan about something, then i’m not sure what to tell you. i’ll read your note, but might not get back to you.

short notes? let’s see… registered the site in ‘97 and put up the first version back in late 90’s… passingnotes.com is now a service from clew, llc (which is really me, i’m the guy behind both of them (dave)). i’ve written a bunch of articles for the society of competitive intelligence professionals, and others for the wall street journal and competitive intelligence magazine (you can read them all here http://www.clew.us/news_pubs.html, though they’re almost all here on passingnotes.com). i’ve also been quoted a bunch of times talking about stuff that has to do with research and human capital in some cool pubs like wired, fortune, the ny times, wall street journal, usa today, boston globe and others (you can read all of the interviews over here: http://www.clew.us/news.html, a few called me a “research expert,” though i’ve also been called a dickbag (oh, but that was my sister)…but overall, generally super positive stuff and very flattering to get called all the time by these pubs!) - actually won some kind of “future hr leader” award in 2005…

…if you want to read my business biography, it starts below this line…or you can just visit a link to the clew, llc corporate site from up above…
